After lots of failures with birth control. I was told my last chance at birth control was the depo. I got my first shot in march. My next shot followed ten weeks later. Since my first shot I was having lots of dizziness and black spots in my vision when I stood up.
I brought this up and they said there was no relation. They continued and gave me the second shot. I returned home and felt very light headed. 5 hours later I was in the shower alone and my heart stopped. I fell out of the shower. I busted my face on my counter needing 4 stitches. I bit thru my lip. Had a concussion and whip lash. I immediately stopped the depo and contacted my doctor who continued to try and convince me that this could NOT be depo related. I have since been diagnosed with POTS. A heart condition. And additionally at the age of 23 I had my tubes removed because my heart problem now makes pregnancy very dangerous. I had 2 rounds of this awful shot. And I wish it upon no one. I’m currently on a 24/7 heart monitor. I’ve had testing every month. I’m seeing specialist every week. From cardiologist to neurologist to special obgyns (because getting your tubes tied at 23 is hard to do in the state of Michigan). I have two daughters. And my life has completely changed from this. My blood pressure drastically drops every single time I stand up. Causing daily black out spells. I will live with this condition forever. Which is also an autoimmune disease. Thanks to the depo shot.
